AATA Sirimudi Awards 2025

AATA proudly announces the inception of the Sirimudi Awards for preserving and encouraging Tulu literature & language. The awards will be given once in four years coinciding with Siri Parba.

The awards are presented in two categories:

  • AATA Sirimudi Award Tulu Script (Lipi) Tulu script literary work should be in the Tulu language and script
  • AATA Sirimudi Award non-Tulu script The non-Tulu script literary work should be in the Tulu language, but the script can be in Kannada.)

The award includes a cash prize of Rs. 75,000, a Plaque, and a Certificate.

Any form of literary work is eligible for the awards, including but not limited to:

  • Novels
  • Plays
  • Poetry
  • Essays
  • Speeches
  • Short stories
  • Historical narratives
  • Philosophical writings
  • Translations

The award will be presented to the most outstanding work in Tulu literature.

Eligibility criteria

  •  The criteria for the award include quality, talent, and hard work.
  • As a global award, anyone can participate.  However, the selection committee members’ literary works are not eligible for the award.
  • Any unpublished literary work or any work published after the AATA founding date (Bisu Parba 2021) is eligible.
  • The literary work shall be submitted in PDF format.
  • Submitted literary work shall be used in Rani Abbakka Genada Chavadi – AATA online library with permission from the rights owner.
  • Submissions can be done by the author or anyone authorized by the author.
  • Only one literary work per author is allowed.
  • The decision of the AATA selection committee is final.
  • The last date for submission: Bisu Parba 2025 – April 15, 2025
  • The awards will be announced during AATA Siri Parba 2025.
